Good Day

I went to the gym today. YES!!!!!!!
And the running didn't feel that hard which was a big morale booster for me.
It's spring break and we have accomplished quite a bit today. We have walked the dog. Shopped and made dinner. Gone to the gym. Heidi finished a Personal Progress Project and learned a new recipe. I worked and and took Heidi to her Ortho appt.

We've accomplished a lot.

And now we are relaxing waiting for dinner to finish baking.

Yeehaw!!!!!

More Protein Please

I saw my surgeon last Friday. I had a bunch of questions for him and so I got a lot of my questions answered. One of my questions was, what is more important, staying below a certain number of calories or getting more protein? He said more protein. I'm upping my protein by 20 grams a day. So my new daily protein goal is 80 grams. I'm hoping this will help me lose a bit faster. I have been very slow. But my doctor also assured me I'm doing ok. I'm on the lower end of the scale for how much I've lost but that slower is better anyway.

I bought some Proti products from my doctors office. They are so good. You just can't find stuff like it on the shelves of your local grocery store. I especially like the protein water mix. The Peach Mango is especially good. It's like Crystal Light but with 15 grams of protein. That is what is really helping me to get my 80 grams in.

Holy Moly

Wow, size 14 American Eagle Jeans.  I'm wearing them.  Today.  My sister gave them to me a while ago and when I tried them on a couple of weeks ago I could get them on but barely. You know the drill.  But today I thought, hm...I've lost a few more pounds.  Let's give them a try. And they fit, and fit well.

Wahoo!

Gastric Bypass or Bulimia?

Two days in a row I have thrown up my lunch. Not because it didn't taste good, not because my stomach rejected it, because sometimes food just doesn't go down. It's annoying to say the least.  I am still throwing up about 4-5 times a week. But it was a lot more when I first began eating solid foods.  Today the culprit was a meatloaf sandwich. I pulled all the bread off and ate the meat only, still got stuck. I was careful to take small bites but perhaps I was eating too quickly. Who knows.  I'm feeling better at the moment but what a waste of a delicious sandwich!

Slow Weight loss

They say the average weight loss at three months for someone who has had this surgery is 50 pounds. I was a little under that. The weight is coming off slowly.   More slowly than i expected.  I don't know if this is normal or not.  it's a question for my surgeon when I see him in a few weeks.

I have lost 52 pounds. I'm losing approximately a pound a week.  I mean, sheesh, isn't that what someone can lose without having surgery?  But when I think about it, I wasn't losing 1 pound a week before I had the surgery. I was losing NOTHING. I was gaining about a pound a week!  Ha!

I just feel that at this rate my 100 pound mark is way further away than I think.

I'm upping my workouts at the gym.  Not for longer periods of time but the intensity.  I'm hoping that will help some as well.

Below 200

The day arrived.

I am below 200.

I can't remember the last time I saw a 1 for the first number on the scale.

I am so happy today. I'm not all about a number on the scale, but I'm all about this milestone.
